Professional Swing Set & Play Structure Removal Company

Every backyard playset has the same life story. For a few golden summers it’s the centre of the yard — then the kids grow up, and the structure just stands there: wood greying and splintering, bolts rusting, slides fading, swings hanging still. What was once the yard’s best feature becomes its biggest obstacle, blocking landscaping plans, pool installations, garden expansions, and home sales where buyers see a teardown project instead of a play area.

Taking one down is harder than it looks. Playsets are engineered not to come apart — lag-bolted beams, hidden brackets, weather-fused hardware, and posts often set in concrete below the lawn. Our playset demolition crews handle the entire job: systematic dismantling, safe demolition of rotted sections, extraction of anchors and footings on request, and complete haul-away of every board, bolt, and panel. Families across the Greater Toronto Area book us with a free quote and get their yard back in an afternoon.

Fast Backyard Play Structure Teardown — Booked This Week, Gone This Week

Playset removals tend to come with a date attached: the landscapers arrive Monday, the pool company needs a clear corner, the listing photos are Thursday, or the structure has simply become a safety hazard you don’t want the neighbourhood kids climbing one more weekend. Rotted platforms, wobbling A-frames, and rusted chains aren’t a someday problem — and our crews can usually be in your yard within days, with same-week slots almost always available.

We take down every kind of backyard play equipment: wooden swing set and tower combos, metal A-frame swing sets, plastic climbers and slides, trampolines, monkey bars, sandbox frames, and aging treehouses. The structure is dismantled or demolished piece by piece, hardware and metal are separated for scrap recycling, salvageable lumber is diverted where possible, and everything leaves on our truck — including the debris raked from the mulch or grass beneath.

Like all our services, pricing is based on the volume hauled plus the teardown work involved, and you’ll have a firm written number before we start.

Complete Playset Dismantling & Haul Away – Towers, Swings, Slides & Footings

The average wooden playset weighs several hundred pounds and is held together by dozens of lag bolts, carriage bolts, and brackets that have spent a decade rusting into place. Add sun-brittled plastic, splinter-prone lumber, elevated platforms, and posts anchored in concrete, and DIY removal becomes a long, skinned-knuckle weekend with a real risk of a beam coming down wrong.

Live Junk Free has demolished and removed play structures of every scale — big-box swing set kits, custom-built cedar towers with rock walls and dual slides, school-style metal frames, backyard trampolines both sunken and standing, and treehouses well past their safe years. Whatever the reason — outgrown kids, a landscaping or pool project, storm damage, a home sale, or an inherited yard — we match the crew and approach to the structure.

Teardown is methodical, not brute-force: swings, slides, and accessories come off first, then platforms and rails, then the frame is dropped in controlled sections. We work on tarps to catch hardware and debris, protect surrounding grass, gardens, and fences, and — if you choose the option — dig out ground anchors and concrete footings so the spot is truly ready for sod, garden beds, or new construction.

Every Playset Removal Includes:

  • Full structural teardown – Every beam, panel, slide, swing, chain, and bracket dismantled and removed
  • Yard left play-ready again – Metal recycled, debris raked from the site, and optional footing extraction for a clean slate

Our Playset Demolition Process from First Bolt to Bare Lawn

Controlled Teardown, Corner to Corner

  • After confirming scope from your photos — structure type, size, anchoring, and access to the yard — the crew begins with accessories: swings, slides, climbing walls, and canopies come off first. Platforms and railings follow, and the main frame is then unbolted or cut down in managed sections, never toppled. Hardware lands on tarps, not in your grass.
  • Once the structure is loaded, we rake the footprint clear of mulch debris, splinters, and stray bolts, complete any requested footing removal, and walk the site with you — leaving nothing behind but level ground.

Recycling Old Swing Sets the Responsible Way

An outgrown playset still has plenty of material worth saving:

  • Scrap Metal Stream: Chains, bolts, brackets, and full metal frames are sent to scrap recyclers
  • Lumber Diversion: Sound, untreated wood is separated for reuse and recycling wherever condition allows
  • Plastic & Debris Handling: Slides, canopies, and worn components are disposed of through proper channels

Structurally sound, safe playsets can sometimes be donated instead — ask us during your quote.

Playset Demolition & Removal Services – FAQs

1) What types of play structures can you demolish and remove?

All of them — wooden tower-and-swing combos, metal A-frame sets, plastic climbers and slides, monkey bars, trampolines (including in-ground), sandbox frames, and old treehouses. Size and condition don’t matter; rotted, storm-damaged, and partially collapsed structures are handled routinely.

2) Can you remove the concrete footings and ground anchors too?

Yes, as an optional add-on. Many playsets are anchored with buried concrete or steel stakes, and we can dig these out so the ground is fully clear for sod, gardens, pools, or construction. If you’d rather leave footings below grade, we’ll cut posts flush instead — your choice at quote time.

3) Will the teardown damage my lawn or gardens?

No — protecting the yard is built into our process. Crews stage on tarps, use plywood paths for heavy carries when the ground is soft, and lower frame sections in a controlled way rather than toppling them. Gardens, fences, and sprinkler heads around the structure are flagged and worked around.

4) What happens to the playset materials after removal?

Metal components — chains, bolts, brackets, and full frames — go to scrap recycling, and sound untreated lumber is diverted for reuse where possible. Worn plastics and debris are disposed of properly. If your playset is still safe and solid, ask about donation; we can sometimes rehome structures instead of demolishing them.

5) How long does playset removal take and what does it cost?

Most swing sets and playsets come down and leave the property within one to three hours; large custom towers or in-ground trampolines can take a little longer. Cost depends on the structure’s size, anchoring, and hauled volume — quoted as one firm written number from your photos, with bundle savings if we’re also removing a shed or clearing the yard.
